The Radisson Blu in Stockholm is the result of using stainless steel to highlight the environment.
The first use of the word “green” was utilized when referring to environmental movements from the 1970s. It was a coined word that the masses thought stereotypical tree hugger organizations only used. Well, the stereotype was not quite accurate for the environmental organizations were focused on improving the environment for all. It wasn’t always a fabricated hippie-filled group, as some conservatives suggested. There were environmentally driven organizations consisting of businessmen, politicians, families, community leaders and more. And what the masses began to take note of was the word “green.” It was becoming a common word used outside of this specific realm.
Commercial and residential industries began to dabble in environmental research trying to find new ways to incorporate available products and services that co-exist in the world without damaging our surroundings. Through this process the discovery of using stainless steel for “going green” was created.
