2 Simple Ways to Clean Stainless Steel

Posted on August 1, 2012 by Reda Abouleish

Stainless steel is known to be a corrosion-resistant material that is easy to clean and environmentally safe.  It is the driving force behind creating hygienic machinery and tools for a wide array of industries, including big box businesses pushing home consumer products.  This is another field (consumer home products) where the stainless steel selection is dominant.

A plethora of options are available for stainless steel kitchen appliances, cookware, and kitchen tools.  But as a consumer you want to receive the maximum benefits from it by cleaning this product properly.  Today I am going to share with you two tips on how to achieve this goal.

Use a Mild Dishwashing Soap and Towel

For those stubborn food remnants use a mixture of warm water and mild dishwashing soap.  It is a simple process.  Rinse the cookware thoroughly to avert discoloration and blemishing.   Then take the cloth with the water and soap mixture and wash the cookware down.  Next, rinse it once again before towel drying the cookware completely ensuring no water spots are left upon it.

Try a Stainless Steel Cleaner

There are cleaners specifically created to clean your stainless steel cookware.  You don’t have to use them but it is a good option that helps minimize any scratching from developing further.  Proceed with caution if you use this route.  You want to be sure it works on the desired surface before trying it.

Stainless steel is a rust-resistant, durable, 100% recyclable material that is great for consumer and commercial usage.  Find out more about the benefits of using stainless steel and nickel alloys in your home or business by calling us today!

Stainless steel is an ideal choice for parking garages and storage dwellings.

England is filled with much excitement and enjoyment as tourists, athletes, fans and families from all over the world gather to enjoy the Olympic Games throughout London.  It is wonderful to witness the patriotism and pride spread throughout Great Britain.  It is even easily felt over 5 hours away in the countryside where locals watch the competition unfold from afar.  These may seem like two different worlds, Northern England and London, but they are the same.  They both include a shared patriotism and pride that is felt…and they both experience the infamous unpredictable English summer weather.

It is impossible not to notice the change of the weather that occurs in one day.  It goes from sprinkling to sunshine to cold providing visitors with all four seasons in 24 hours.  With that said, I started to wonder what type of material holds up under such unpredictable conditions.  Wood becomes torn and frayed while brick makes a shed look tired.  So what should one use for storage and parking dwellings in Great Britain?  Stainless steel holds up under extreme weather conditions making it ideal for the bustling city of London and the abundantly green Northern England border near Wales.

When unpredictable weather strikes, it is important to use material that keeps your vehicles, farming equipment and home improvement tools protected from weather damage.  Water, wind and snow can freeze, rust and permanently damage your belongings.  Instead of worrying about the cost of leaks, upkeep and repair choose stainless steel.  It is weather resistant, durable and does not disintegrate when water and extreme conditions come into direct contact with it.

Mirrored stainless steel is an ideal choice for home and commerical projects.

There are many different design directions to go when choosing stainless steel.  You can choose colored, matted or brushed steel.  You can choose whatever size desired and have it fabricated into whatever shape you need to complete the look of your next project.  But why not add another layer of aesthetic appeal by choosing mirrored steel?  The seamless look of mirrored steel makes it a widely popular choice amongst building designers and architects today.

When walking into a commercial space with mirrored steel notice how some onlookers tend to stop, look and drool.  It has a flawless finish due to the zero lines present on the material.  It is a highly reflective surface that does not tarnish, peel or crack making it weather resistant and durable to hold up under a range of conditions.  This is why many building designers and architects love to work with this metal.

Traditional mirrors are not always a safe option for certain locations such as schools, hospitals and dance studios.  By making the switch to a mirrored stainless steel you are preventing potential accidents from occurring while complying with building safety requirements.

Be smart like the London Olympics 2012 Committee by choosing stainless steel for your next project.

The London Olympics Committee for 2012 put into thought the roles types of steel would play in the creation for venues and public areas for the Olympic Games.  The main material chosen had to exhibit environmentally safe traits.  The Committee also took into consideration the concern the growing impact the selected metal would have on the land, nature and the people around it.  The Committee chose stainless steel for a wide array of reasons including it being a 100% recyclable metal.

Today I am going to share with you an insight of why stainless steel was chosen for the Olympics and why it is the right choice for your next home and/or business project.

When producing metal for a project much energy goes into the production process.  In the past, manufacturers and engineers wasted an abundant amount of energy on soldering, welding and implementing other techniques to get a selected metal just right.  Steel manufacturers took notice of this excessive energy it emitted so they decided to make a change.  Currently, stainless steel manufacturers evolved this technique and it is now an energy efficient process making it a high quality, cost-effective, energy saving, environmentally safe selection for you.

2 Ways Stainless Steel Contributes to a Clean Environment

Posted on July 6, 2012 by Reda Abouleish

Stainless steel is one of the reasons why we have clean water.

Stainless steel has many positive affects upon the environment versus other materials.  For one, it is 100% recyclable.  That is a common benefit frequently mentioned when discussing this material.  However, there are many other advantages to using stainless steel that impacts the environment in a positive way.  Here are two ways it helps.

Improves Air Quality

With the prices of gas going up, it is no wonder people are turning more towards diesel fuel.  This is a smart option not only on your wallet but for the physical world around us.  Did you know that diesel filters eliminate more than 90% of black smoke and more than 80% of soot created from diesel engines?  This improves the air quality for us all.  This is in direct correlation with steel since diesel filters are made from stainless steel itself.

Keeps Our Water Supplies Clean

Clean water is essential to survival for animals, plants, the land (in its entirety) and humans.  If water is contaminated the land is deprived and starves.  The land suffers along with other plants, animals and us.  Thus, clean water assists with the land flourishing with harvest and nutrition for all the plants, animals and us to consume and grow from.  Stainless steel helps us achieve this goal.  The nominal risk of it corroding keeps water levels clean and prevents bacteria from growing.  This is why it is an ideal choice.

Stainless steel is desired for its easy ability to clean and sterilize.

Why do engineers, building designers, architects and construction consultants turn to stainless steel repeatedly for their projects?  It isn’t difficult to see why when you realize the initial cost of stainless steel holds its value the best in comparison to other options.  Here is a brief overview of some of these benefits and why you should choose it too for your next project.

Fabrication Simplicity

Stainless steel can be cut, fabricated, shaped and bent into whatever shape and/or size you need for your product.  Traditional steels cannot be manipulated in the same manner.  This makes it a top choice for building designers and project managers alike.

Sterilization Ease

Over the years, medical facilities, restaurants and food processing plants discovered that stainless steel is very easy to clean preventing contamination from developing and occurring in these businesses.  It is the same reason why you see many pieces of home kitchen equipment made out of the same material.

Extreme Heat Resistant

This metal demonstrates a great resistance to collapsing under extreme heat.  It maintains its strength under extreme temperatures not faltering in any way.  The key is to finding the right nickel alloy grade suitable for such settings.

Find out the benefits of using stainless steel for your next pool design project.

Summer time means temperatures are rising, kids are out of school, backyard cookouts are planned and hopefully, somewhere in this summer picturesque scene, a pool is involved.  It is way too hot not to involve endless swimming days into the mix.  With that said, today I am going to focus on pools and the relationship pool design has with stainless steel.

Stainless steel is incorporated into pool design in different ways.  Consider what you need the steel for and where it will be used before diving into purchasing steel for this project.  Think about if you are going to need the steel item to be fully submerged or saturated all the time.  For instance, pool ladders and diving board structures fall into this category.  Alternatively, do you need to design areas that shall only get splashed instead, such as changing rooms, bathrooms and/or seating areas?

Grades 304 and 316 are commonly used for all of the above locations.  For the more drenched areas, choose type 316.  Its crevice corrosion resistance makes it an ideal choice.  Of course,  ask a professional that specializes in steel to discover what your options are and which works best to meet your needs.
